Monica Lewis is a dedicated parent leader from Michigan with over a decade of experience advancing authentic family engagement. From 2015 to 2025, Monica has served as a powerful voice for parents across local, state, and national systems, ensuring that families are not only represented, but meaningfully included in decision-making.
Since 2021, Monica has also served as an HVCOIIN Parent Engagement Consultant, providing strategic guidance to strengthen parent partnerships within home visiting systems. She currently represents the public sector on the MICC as a representative for children with developmental delays and disabilities, further amplifying the voices of families navigating complex systems of care.
Monica is a strong advocate for the inclusion of parent leaders across all aspects of systems work, while also championing the development of skills that help build workforce strength and sustainability. Her professional background includes work as a reflective supervisor in a home visiting program, where she supported staff growth, leadership development, and trauma-informed practice.
A nationally recognized speaker, Monica has presented across the country on parent leadership, family engagement, and systems change. Her work is grounded in lived experience, equity, and a deep commitment to ensuring that families are valued as essential partners in shaping policies and programs that impact their lives.
